The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House is a “home away from home” for families with critically-ill children. They provide a place to stay, a source of comfort and care, and a chance to focus all of their energies on the one thing that matters most of all: their child. Research shows that a family’s presence in the hospital helps children heal. Staying close by allows parents to better communicate with their child’s medical team and improves adherence to complicated treatment plans. On Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Measures of Help fed the families at the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House located at 500 East 27th Street ~ Long Beach, CA 90806. We prepared a taco bar for the residents and were able to sit and break bread with many of them including the staff. It was heartwarming to see how gracious and grateful the residents were of our efforts. We are hoping to return in 2017 to provide another form of support for this group by providing the residents with a dessert bar.
